PROCESS for R: Syntax Options

Additional parameters you can use for your PROCESS models in R.

When you run a moderation, mediation, or moderated mediation analysis with PROCESS for R, there are many additional parameters you can use to customize your analysis. This video tutorial shows you the main syntax options that are available to you.

You can also find a text based tutorial for most of the syntax options. It is based on PROCESS for SPSS, but the parameters are essentially the same:

There are three things to keep in mind if using these options in R:

  • You have to drop the slash in front of the parameter, e.g., stand = 1 instead of /stand = 1 in SPSS.
  • You have to use quotation signs for variables, e.g., y = "DV" instead of /y = DV in SPSS
  • You have to separate the parameters with a comma.
